What material is used in the manufacturing of Arcsys Drills?
Arcsys Drills are manufactured in a noble stainless steel, recommended for use in surgical instruments, according to the United States standard ASTM F899. The material has high mechanical resistance allied to resistance to corrosion and Titanium Nitrate finishing (TiN) which promotes a decrease in friction and an increase in hardness and consequenty, more durability. The main factors that allow for the perforation in one single step are: the inverted conic geometry, the small area in contact with the bone surface (only the cutting edges), the side grooves that are deep and reduce the thickness of the metal, allowing for a fast heat exchange with the cooling liquid; the guide tip that stabilizes the direction of the perforation and the TiN (Titanium Nitrate) finishing which reduces the friction coefficient between the FGM Drill and the bone tissue.
