Seeking a natural smile – whitening by using the mixed technique
Female patient, 24.
COMPLAINT
Slightly yellowish teeth, especially the canines.
INITIAL APPEARANCE
Teeth showing relatively light shade, except for canines with shade A3.
CLINICAL/X-RAY EXAM
Healthy oral condition, without need for intervention prior to whitening. Teeth 13 and 23 showed a more saturated yellow coloring than the other teeth, with a significant difference in tone.
TREATMENT
Although the other teeth were already light (shade A1), dental whitening was indicated to homogenize the color of the smile. Initially, one in-office whitening session was done, in combination with two weeks of supervised take-home whitening, followed by one more in-office whitening session.
