Maximum safety and practicality allied with a bactericidal glass ionomer and low compression composite
20-year-old, female patient.
COMPLAINT:
Patient reported sensitivity during chewing and ingestion of cold drinks in tooth 36.
CLINICAL/RADIOGRAPHIC EXAM:
An unsatisfactory composite restoration (class I of Black) was found in tooth 36 due to margin fracture, absence of functionally adequate anatomical shape, micro-infection in the tooth/restoration interface and color change. Both aesthetic and functional changes. The patient presented periodontal health with a wide range of keratinized tissue. At the probing examination, the depth of the sulcus was within the healthy standards. The radiographic exam suggested the presence of remnant carious tissue underlying the restoration.
TREATMENT:
Replacement of the unsatisfactory restoration was performed.
